With the proliferation of the Internet to the mass people through devices such as smartphones and personal computers, the world becomes a global village with its truest potentials and possibilities. The democratization of education is happening at an overwhelming rate. Anyone can learn things at any time from anywhere. Thus, a student needs to perform as a global citizen in this global village.
A separate entity like the Center for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) has been established at UIU in June 2019 to address the need of internationalization that should happen and be experienced at UIU. CIAC’s aim is to provide the students, faculty members and staff the international exposures where cross-cultural diversities and practices are nurtured, and learning happens in the global scale.
The main goal of the establishment of CIAC is to enhance international collaboration of UIU. CIAC acts as a bridge between UIU and other renowned global institutions.
Our mission is to support students and faculties for international learning, scholarship, teaching, and research experiences for shaping their global careers.
Our vision is to empower students and faculties with global learning facilities through collaboration with top-ranked foreign universities and research institutions.
We offer a variety of services to help our local and international students, scholars, faculty and staff in the following ways:
United International University (UIU), established in 2003, is one of the top-ranked private universities in Bangladesh. UIU has been ranked among the top 350 universities in Asia. According to the list of QS Asia University Ranking 2020, UIU has been placed in the top 351-400 in the rankings. According to the list of QS Asia University Ranking 2019, UIU has been placed in the top 301-350 in the rankings. QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranking is the most prestigious and widely accept-ed ranking in the educational World. Our School of Business and Economics received an accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) of the USA. The programs offered by the School of Science and Engineering are also accredited by the Board of Accreditation Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE) which is an independent body under Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and is an associate member of Washington Accord.
UIU Achieves Position in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings-2020. A total of 5 universities of Bangladesh have secured positions in the second edition of THE Impact Rankings 2020. The second edition of the ranking included 850 universities from 89 countries. United International University ranked between 401 and 600.
CIMA has been awarded an exclusive accreditation to the BBA in AIS (Accounting & Information Systems) program. This accreditation was awarded after mapping the curriculum of BBA (AIS) program with CIMA Qualification. Under this accreditation, current students and graduates from BBA (AIS) department will be exempted from 5 exams out of 16 exams in CIMA Qualification.
At present, more than 5000 students are studying at UIU and there are more than one hundred and fifty faculty members, including 44 regular teachers with Ph.D. degrees, to teach different subjects in UIU. Untiring effort of faculty members to enhance the quality of education is the pillar of UIU.

The mission of UIU is to create excellent human resources with intellectual, creative, technical, moral and practical skills to serve the community, industry and region.
