About the UIU campus

Campus area

UIU's permanent campus is on a 25-bigha plot at United City, Badda. It is housed in a 12-storey building, expandable to 20 storeys, with 704,975 sq ft of floor space.

Playground

The campus has a large playground, 700 ft by 300 ft, with green open space for outdoor recreation and separate areas for cricket, football, volleyball, badminton and other sports.

Canteen and other facilities

UIU has a furnished canteen with three vendors, among them Khan's Kitchen, Olympia and Vikrampur's Khan, and a coffee shop on the first floor. A Unimart outlet on the ground floor sells most everyday products to students, faculty members and staff.

UIU Library

The library is the university's key resource and learning centre, with print and digital resources. It uses the open-source KOHA system for library management and DSpace for the institutional repository. The general collection holds more than 14,090 volumes, plus more than 35,000 e-books, and the journal subscription gives access to periodicals in electronic format. The library has 25,000 sq ft of floor space.

Laboratories

UIU's hardware laboratories include the Microwave, Electrical Circuit, Digital/Electronics, Energy Conversion, Microprocessor, Communication, Power System Protection, Power System, Power Electronics, DSP, and Measurement and Instrumentation labs. There are also 15 fully equipped computer labs, including the VLSI, Programming and Browsing labs.
