A summer school is a programme, usually run by a foreign institution or company, of classes and activities during the summer vacation. UIU encourages its students, local and international, to join summer schools abroad.
UIU offers the EIT Digital Summer School in Europe.
What you do
- A pre-arrival online assignment: an 8-hour course on business and entrepreneurship, due one week before the course starts
- Lectures by university professors, researchers and entrepreneurs
- Project work in instructed groups
- Customer interviews with possible customers
- Site visits to companies and labs
- Social events to build your international network and learn the local culture
- Pitches: each team pitches its business case to a jury and investors, who select a winner
- A report, for EIT Digital students and anyone who wants 4 ECTS for the course
What you gain
Learning by doing and a wider network. You work in teams and apply learning by doing to develop the mindset and skills for innovation and entrepreneurship, alongside students and entrepreneurs from the business and innovation community.
Competence. Learn how disruptive technologies affect markets and businesses, and how business models are changing.
Confidence. Learn the stages of business development and how to turn an idea into a go-to-market proposal.
Soft skills. Teamwork with peers and professionals from many disciplines, on real business challenges.
