Center for International Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC) of United International University (UIU), Bangladesh celebrated International Students’ Day virtually on Saturday.
This virtual event was organized for international students who are studying in different countries as foreign students and international partner universities and organizations of UIU.
The event which divided into three sessions was conducted by Jennifer Hossain, Assistant Director of CIAC-UIU.
The Experience Sharing by the partner Universities and their nominated international students was moderated by Professor Dr. Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Director of CIAC-UIU while Cultural Event conducted jointly by Afia Mukarrama Mohona, Assistant General Secretary and S.M. Aufi Islam, President, Students’ International Affairs Society (SIAS-UIU), a society of CIAC-UIU.
Professor Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, Vice Chancellor of UIU, explained the main goal of the establishment of CIAC-UIU is to enhance international collaboration of UIU. CIAC-UIU acts as a bridge between UIU and other renowned global universities and institutions.
The university VC underscored the fact that UIU provides 25% scholarship for all the international students and 100% scholarship for the meritorious international students who get it via their local embassies and foreign ministries.
CIAC-UIU organized this event in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy Dhaka, EMK Center, EducationUSA, DAAD: German Academic Exchange Service, University of Portsmouth-UK, Macquarie University-Australia, Woxsen University-India, FPT University-Vietnam.
Sharlina Hussain-Morgan from U.S. Embassy Dhaka, Razoun Siddiky Tohin from Education USA and EMK Center, Frau Shikha Sinha and Mahmudul Hasan Suman From DAAD: German Academic Exchange Service, MAmran Mofiz and Joe Hall from University of Portsmouth-UK, Anthony Bradley and Alkayet Hossain from Macquarie University-Australia, Hien Nguyen and Michelle Nguyen from FPT Education Global-Vietnam and Chahat Mishra from Woxsen University-India, Professor Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, Jennifer Hossain and Md. Faruque Miah from United International University, Bangladesh were the distinguished speakers of the event.
