About UIU Campus

The permanent campus of UIU is built up on a plot of 25-bigha land located at the United City, Badda in a comprehensive manner.  It is housed in a 12-storied building expandable to 20 stories. It has at present 704,975 sq. ft. floor space.

 

Play Ground: The campus has a large playground of length 700 ft and width 300 ft with lush green open spaces for outdoor recreation. This playground has separate place allocated for different types of sports such as, Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton and so on.

 

Canteen and others facilities: UIU has a well-furnished and beautifully decorated canteen with 3 different vendors. Khan’s Kitchen, Olympia and Vikrampur’s Khan are among them. Besides, UIU has a coffee shop located on the first floor. Unimart (A reputed super shop) has also an outlet located on the ground floor of UIU, where majority of necessary products are available for students, faculty members and staff at an attractive price than other outlets of it.

 

UIU Library acts as a key resource and learning center for the university to meet the information needs of its users for the growth and overall development of the university. It provides online resources as well as digital resources. It has adopted Open Source software KOHA for integrated library management, and recently introduces DSpace to build and update institutional repositories. General collections of the UIU library contain more than 14090 volumes and digital collections, more than 35,000 electronic books. Our journal subscription accesses 1175,000 periodicals in electronic format. The current UIU library has 25,000 sq. ft. of floor space providing adequate to the needs of the users. The university plans to build a digital library complete with subscriptions to online journals and e-books. If that plan is implemented, the UIU library will be able to make its place among the first to libraries of Bangladesh.

 

There are a number of hardware laboratories in UIU including Microwave lab, Electrical Circuit Lab, Digital/Electronics Lab, Energy Conversion Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Communication Lab, Power System Protection Lab, Power System Lab, Power Electronics Lab, DSP Lab, and Measurement and Instrumentation Lab. In addition to these, there are 15 fully equipped Computer Labs that include VLSI Lab, Programming Lab, Browsing Lab, etc.
